Job Summary

This full-time position (37.5 hours) requires a dedicated Support Worker to support two young men with autism in their home in the Liberton area of Edinburgh. Your primary goal will be to provide tailored support, enabling them to maintain independence and make informed choices.

Responsibilities
  • Support clients with daily activities, such as managing their home, finances, attending appointments, medication administration, and personal care.
  • Encourage participation in community activities, such as going to shows, volunteering, dining out, music, and walking.
  • Collaborate with the clients to develop personalized plans, promoting their autonomy and well-being.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals and improve their lives.
  • Experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker, preferably with autism experience.
  • An understanding of the importance of respect, reliability, and honesty when working with clients.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and build strong relationships.

This role includes day shifts, sleepovers, and some weekends (generally 2 weekends a month).
