We are seeking an Electrical Network Engineer to join our team at SSE, a leading energy company powering communities across central southern England and the north of Scotland.

As an Electrical Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective completion of emergency and fault work in the field. You will use your engineering knowledge to guide and direct internal resources to solutions, acting as a field-based technical expert and point of escalation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring great customer service performance and value is delivered by self, team, and contract partners to meet and exceed customer and regulator expectations.
  • Having sound business and technical knowledge of electricity distribution, with a basic understanding of how a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) operates and generates revenue and incentives within the current price control period.
  • Traveling to various locations and having a thorough understanding of local business plans derived from regulatory price control submissions, with an appreciation of unit cost and financial awareness.
