Children, Young People Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Children, Young People Support Worker. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred, age-appropriate support to children and young people affected by domestic violence and abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people, providing support, advocacy, and information to help them realise their potential.
  • Develop and implement individual support plans, working closely with the team to offer awareness and co-delivery of support.
  • Work with the management team to develop and implement our Children, Young People and Family Support Programme.
  • Build effective partnerships with parents and other stakeholders to achieve best value and quality in service delivery.
  • Hold a Level 3 qualification (e.g. NNEB, Health & Social Care) or equivalent.
  • Have proven experience of working with children and young people, including organising and providing appropriate play and other activities.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the impact of domestic violence on children and young people.
  • Be able to work in a non-judgemental way, recognising different and individual needs children may have.
  • Understand and be committed to compliance in Safeguarding and Child Protection.
  • Be able to build and develop supportive relationships with women and their children, while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Have proven caseload management experience, with a clear focus on outcomes for customers and their wider community.
  • Be able to demonstrate partnership working with specialist agencies, such as mental health teams and offending services.
  • Have exceptional communication skills and be able to work under pressure using your own initiative.
  • Be able to work positively and creatively with support needs.
  • Have experience of using a Housing Management System or similar software.

Requirements:

  • Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
  • Satisfactory references.
  • Possession of a valid Right to Work document.

Working Arrangements:

This role will require flexibility in approach, working hours on a five-day rota, which may include bank holidays, evenings, and weekends when required. There is also an on-call rota.
