Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Job Summary:

Duncan and Todd Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to provide maternity cover within our finance department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing and assisting in a variety of accounting responsibilities to maintain the seamless operation of month end and day-to-day finance matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post monthly journals, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Reconcile income between the retail system and finance system, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Manage credit card administration, including issuing statements, monitoring compliance, and resolving any issues.
  • Analyze and post all credit card costs, providing a monthly breakdown of travel spend and credit card spend.
  • Investigate and resolve any differences in intercompany balances, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Review sundry margins for all retail branches, providing relevant commentary for any anomalies.
  • Issue cheque refunds to patients and maintain a tracker, ensuring efficient and accurate processing.
  • Assist with daily bank allocations, matching NHS receipts to claims submitted, and providing updates to branches.
  • Support the Senior Accounts Assistant with tasks relating to Smart Employee Eyecare business, including monitoring and actioning mailbox queries, allocating corporate receipts, and reconciling sales ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile and ensure timely receipts for Retail Corporate debtors, assisting with purchase ledger tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a focus on month-end tasks.
  • Competency in Excel, with the ability to manipulate data and provide insights.
  • Desirable: SAP experience, although training will be provided.
