Key Responsibilities:

This role encompasses various aspects of financial management, including:

Financial Management:
  • Develop annual budgets with budget holders, identifying cost pressures, service developments, and cost improvements.
  • Responsible for ensuring tasks required to complete monthly financial reports are undertaken to time and required standards.
  • Provide monthly statements and other relevant financial information to Trust Divisions and service lines.
  • Investigate and report significant budgetary variances and costs.
  • Design, format, and maintain accurate calculations of accruals and prepayments.
  • Analyze the financial position of Divisional Budgets to advise the Finance Business Partner on potential risks and opportunities.

Service Developments/Disinvestments and Costing:
  • Provide Trust Managers and budget holders staff costings for recruitment purposes.
  • Assist in the development of operational plans assessing implications on both income and expenditure.
  • Support Finance Business Partner in developing, appraising, and implementing divisional business cases.
  • Analyze and review allocation of costs to product or service lines.

Statutory Accounting and Governance:
  • Promote compliance with Trust Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions and Scheme of Delegation.
  • Comply with Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders, and audit requirements.
  • Contribute to producing statutory accounts through ensuring accounting transactions comply with recognized professional standards and guidance.

Training and Development:
  • Deliver and facilitate training sessions for non-finance staff to develop understanding of financial framework and issues.
  • Responsible for professional development of one member of staff.
  • Maintain and evidence CPD requirements of professional body.

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.
