Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and supportive English department as a qualified teacher. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of confident communicators and critical thinkers, inspiring a love for literature and the power of language.
Key Responsibilities:- Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11), in line with the National Curriculum.
- Utilize various teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring all students can develop their literacy skills effectively (phonics, reading comprehension, writing fluency, grammar, vocabulary acquisition).
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills (formative and summative assessments).
- Provide students with clear, constructive feedback that helps them improve their writing, reading, and analytical skills (written feedback, peer review, self-assessment).
- A qualified English teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of literature and language in students of all abilities.
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- A willingness to be part of a dynamic school and contribute to its ongoing development.
**Salary:** £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
