Accounts Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at Gleeson Recruitment Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing payment processes, bank reconciliations, and credit control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process BACS payments and update bank mandates
  • Manage the corporate credit card scheme and oversee receipts and cash allocation
  • Reconcile daily bank transactions, post payments and receipts to ledgers, and manage direct debit/standing order receipts and collections
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Accounting Manager and stay updated on relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of banking and payment processes
  • Proficiency in bank reconciliation and financial ledger management
  • Excellent credit control skills with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with expense management systems and strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication abilities and ability to work independently and as part of a team
