Credit Controller

NLB Solutions is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team in Hemel Hempstead. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Finance and be responsible for managing outstanding debt, ensuring payment terms are maintained, and resolving disputes.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage customer accounts, including credit checking, insurance limits, and anticipating credit issues.
- Prepare and submit invoice summaries, applications, and monthly account statements to ensure certification and payment.
- Prioritize the settlement of old debt, resolve disputes, and negotiate payment plans.
- Reconcile remittances, take, post, and allocate payments.
- Maintain accurate records for timely analysis and reporting on customer performance.
- Monitor key customers' performance and escalate important developments or problems.
- Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to prevent indebtedness.
- Ensure all transactions comply with company policies and contractual terms.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Credit Control and Sales Ledger.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Confident negotiator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter who tackles tough issues promptly and persistently.
- Adaptable to workload challenges, effectively prioritizing and multi-tasking.
- Controlled and professional manner to handle potentially confrontational conversations.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Excellent IT skills, including Excel.
