Credit Controller

NLB Solutions is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join their finance team in Hemel Hempstead. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Finance and be responsible for managing outstanding debt, ensuring payment terms are maintained, and minimizing the risk of bad debt.
The company is committed to supporting its staff and offers a range of benefits. The role will provide exposure to senior management and the board, and will involve working from home 4 days a week and in the office 1 day a week.
Key Responsibilities:- Control of stock for customer accounts, including credit checking sales orders and managing credit insurance limits
- Managing customer invoicing, including preparing and submitting invoice summaries and monthly account statements
- Making sure payments happen in full and on time, including prioritizing the settlement of old debt and resolving disputes
- Managing payments when they come in, including reconciling remittances and taking, posting, and allocating payments
- Maintaining accurate records to allow timely analysis and reporting on customer performance
- Monitoring key customer performance and escalating important developments or problems to initiate procedures to control debt management
- Identifying changes in payment patterns and proposing action to avert indebtedness
- Ensuring that all transactions are compliant with the company's policies and agreed contractual terms
- Minimum of 2 years' experience of Credit Control and Sales Ledger
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Confident negotiator with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter who tackles tough issues promptly, directly, and persistently
- Adaptable to workload challenges, effectively prioritizing and multi-tasking
- Controlled and professional manner to handle potentially confrontational conversations
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Excellent IT skills, including Excel
