Join Our Team as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of our CAMHS services. You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, managing a caseload of complex patients, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Manage a caseload of complex patients with emerging personality disorders, conduct, and behavioral problems
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that meet the needs of children and young people
  • Contribute to the development of our CAMHS services and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Eligibility for Section 12 (Mental Health Act 1983) Approval and Approved Clinician status
  • Higher degree/diploma or equivalent in a relevant field of medical or psychological studies
  • Higher specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and experience in managing complex cases
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate complex information to patients and families
