PBS Practitioner Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to join Turning Point's innovative team as a PBS Practitioner, supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health conditions in our new service based in Kent.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide excellent Positive Behaviour Support, working in line with the Positive Behaviour Support Framework. We are looking for a specialist in Autism who can manage their own caseload of 10 individuals and plan their diary to achieve a work-life balance.
Main Responsibilities
- Respond to PBS referrals and hold a caseload, prioritized with support from the PBS Team Manager.
- Ensure support teams focus on enhancing the quality of life of people supported, promoting personal skill development and reducing/eliminating the use of restrictive practices.
- Respond to crisis situations where a person is posing a risk to self and/or others and there is a risk of placement breakdown.
- Train and develop teams who are assisting individuals with Autism and/or behaviors of distress, reviewing and developing PBS plans.
- Input to the assessment of people who are supporting individuals with Autism and/or behaviors of distress.
- Work with relevant professionals/multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the provision of an effective support to those individuals who use Turning Point's services.
- Maintain data analysis related to behavioural support to demonstrate justification for strategies employed and behavioural trends over time.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have formal training in PBS, such as BILD CAPBS Coaches or PBS diploma. They will also be passionate, motivated, and enthusiastic, with experience supporting people who have autism. The candidate will be a creative thinker and problem solver, with a strong understanding of positive behaviour support, person-centred approaches, and thinking.
