Job Title: Senior Environmental Consultant

Join FiveRivers Environmental Contracting Ltd as a Senior Environmental Consultant and contribute to the company's mission of delivering innovative ecological and environmental solutions. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of design team projects, overseeing the line management of consultant-level staff, and ensuring adherence to Safety, Quality, Time, and Cost (SQTC) metrics.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the delivery of design team projects, delegating tasks, mentoring junior team members, and reporting to senior staff when additional support is required.
  • Oversee the line management of consultant-level staff or junior team members, ensuring their performance aligns with project goals and company standards.
  • Manage and coordinate design team projects within the 5R Design and Build business unit, ensuring adherence to SQTC metrics.
  • Manage resource allocation and project capacity to ensure successful programme delivery, while overseeing team competency development and workload distribution.
  • Commercial acumen applied, with a holistic understanding of the link between project, programme, and business unit performance.
  • Responsible for management of project budgets, forecasting, and commercial reporting. Building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders such as clients, subcontractors, and supply chains.
  • Senior Environmental Consultants are responsible for CDM compliance, including design risk management and environmental solutions. They are expected to take a holistic view of projects, delegate tasks, and mitigate any identified risks. Unresolved risks must be escalated to senior staff.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years in consultancy or equivalent.
  • Experience in designing solutions in the water environment (or similar industry).
  • Experience in project management and has commercial acumen.
  • Experience of bidding and winning works in the environmental sector.
  • Experience of Auto CAD and ArcGIS experience preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present proposals.
  • Full driving licence (for site visits).
