We're looking for a seasoned Design System champion to lead our Internal Products & Platforms design team.

The Role Overview

As the leader of our Internal Products & Platforms design team, you'll be responsible for managing a small but impactful team of four designers. Your team's responsibilities will encompass a range of Internal Products, including Origami, the Financial Times design system, Spark our CMS, and on occasion Core Platforms used by approximately 2,000 internal employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design system vision and strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership and peers to formulate and communicate a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for Origami.
  • Drive design system adoption: Create documentation, self-service tools, and contribution models to facilitate and scale design system adoption.
  • Mentor and coach designers: Help designers improve their design craft by utilizing clear design standards set out in the design system.
  • Team leadership: Manage and develop a small, highly motivated team of designers.
  • Influence product strategy: Collaborate with Product and Tech partners to plan and shape current and future initiatives, deploying your team to maximum effect.

Required Experience
  • A portfolio showcasing key responsibilities through experience or demonstrable case studies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in design system best practices.
  • Experience and familiarity working on Internal Products.
  • Experience of and knowledge working in Figma and relevant tools.
  • An expert in all forms of communication.
