Job Summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust is a leading healthcare provider in the UK, offering a comprehensive range of medical services. We are currently seeking an experienced ICU Senior Clinical Fellow to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in critical care medicine, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in anaesthesia and/or critical care. They will be responsible for managing all aspects of patient care in the critical care environment, working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post will be designed around the specific requirements of the doctor, with particular attention paid to progressing towards a goal of achieving CESR.

The ICU Senior Clinical Fellow will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with access to a wide range of training and development opportunities. They will be expected to work at a senior level, providing support to more junior members of the medical team and to the Advanced Critical Care Practitioners. The trainee will be the senior of 5 resident medical workforce out of hours.

About the Role

The ICU Senior Clinical Fellow will be responsible for managing all aspects of patient care in the critical care environment, including airway management and resuscitation. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including consultant intensivists, ICM trainees, Junior Clinical Fellows, IMTs, ACCS/DRREM trainees, Respiratory StRs, and anaesthetic trainees. The post will be designed around the specific requirements of the doctor, with particular attention paid to progressing towards a goal of achieving CESR.

Key Responsibilities

The ICU Senior Clinical Fellow will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

Managing all aspects of patient care in the critical care environment

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, including consultant intensivists, ICM trainees, Junior Clinical Fellows, IMTs, ACCS/DRREM trainees, Respiratory StRs, and anaesthetic trainees

Providing support to more junior members of the medical team and to the Advanced Critical Care Practitioners

Working at a senior level, providing leadership and guidance to the team

Requirements

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

Basic Medical Qualification (MBChB, MBBS or equivalent)

Full GMC Registration

Minimum of 3 years of experience in anaesthesia and/or critical care

Strong background in critical care medicine

Ability to work at a senior level, providing leadership and guidance to the team

Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including consultant intensivists, ICM trainees, Junior Clinical Fellows, IMTs, ACCS/DRREM trainees, Respiratory StRs, and anaesthetic trainees

Ability to provide complete details of employment history

Evidence that career progression is consistent with personal circumstances

Evidence that present achievement and performance is commensurate with totality of period of training
