An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with Barnsley Council as an Advanced Social Worker Practitioner within the Locality Team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support and Guidance: Collaborate with senior colleagues to prioritize, allocate, and review work in accordance with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements, ensuring effective budget management and maximizing service efficiencies.
  2. Service Monitoring and Evaluation: Contribute to the analysis of service needs, review of available resources, and development of service practice, policies, and strategies to maintain high-quality services.
  3. Supervision and Development: Provide supervision, direction, and coordination of workloads, support and guidance, appraisal, and professional development for social work students and other professionals.
  4. Service User Assessments: Conduct clear and detailed assessments of service users, prioritizing, allocating, and reviewing work in accordance with relevant statutory requirements, minimizing risks, and considering service user needs and available options.

For this position, you will need to hold a recognized social work qualification and be SWE registered. Additionally, you will have at least two years of post-qualifying experience in a statutory child care setting to support your ability for this role.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection planning, as well as experience working within the Public Law Outline and Court proceedings.
