About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medicines across our inpatient and community mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmaceutical care as part of the multidisciplinary team, working closely with clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement medicines management policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to the education and development of healthcare professionals, including training and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with patients, carers, primary care, and other healthcare services to ensure seamless transfer of care.
Requirements
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • BTEC or equivalent Pharmacy technician qualification, plus post-qualification training and 4 years practical experience working in primary or secondary care.
  • Experience of involvement in training healthcare professionals and other NHS staff, both individually and in groups.
  • Sound technical pharmaceutical and clinical knowledge to optimise the safe, effective, and cost-effective use of medicines.
