Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical care to patients and service users across our inpatient and community mental health services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality clinical input into all aspects of health provision. You will work closely with our clinical team, including a Clinical Pharmacist, to address the care needs of patients and service users.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a high level of pharmaceutical care as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Support the development and delivery of medicines management policies and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the education and development of our expanding service.
  • Work closely with patients, carers, primary care, in-patient mental health services, and local acute trusts.
  • Ensure safe and effective medicines management processes within the service.

Requirements
  • BTEC or equivalent Pharmacy technician qualification, plus post-qualification training and 4 years' practical experience working in primary or secondary care.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Experience of involvement in training healthcare professionals and other NHS staff.
  • Significant post-registration experience working in a range of health settings, including primary, secondary, physical health, and mental health.
