About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Speech & Language Therapist to join our team in East Kent, working with children aged 0-19 years.

The successful candidate will be part of an integrated therapies team, providing Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Specialist Nurse Advisors, and Care Coordinators.

As a key member of the team, you will work closely with colleagues from health, education, and social care teams to provide high-quality care to children and young people.

Main Responsibilities

  • To assess, plan, and implement SLT interventions that support children with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • To deliver evidence-based SLT interventions for children to achieve their identified health outcomes.
  • To develop integrated care plans with the child, young person, and/or family, recommending and supporting interventions at universal, targeted, and specialist levels.
  • To participate in clinical supervision and work collaboratively with Therapy Assistants, OTs, PTs, SLTs, Care Coordinators, and Specialist Nurse Advisors.
  • To actively contribute to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams to provide high-quality care to children and young people in line with care pathways.
  • To manage a caseload of children with complex needs on a daily basis.

Benefits and Requirements

  • Estimated salary: £32,000 - £43,041 per annum.
  • Required qualifications: Registered Healthcare Professional with relevant Professional body (HCPC) and Speech & Language Therapy degree.
  • Essential experience: Recent community healthcare/education settings gained through education or work experience placement or previous employment.
  • Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS, knowledge of up-to-date clinical practice.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), ability to organise own work, and cope with change.
