Financial Management and Reporting Accountant

Award-winning AJ Bell Management Limited is seeking a skilled Financial Management and Reporting Accountant to join its high-performing finance team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering key management information and analysis, ensuring accurate reporting within deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and experience in contributing to high-quality management information to a range of stakeholders within the business are essential.

We are looking for a technically strong individual who can demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships and communicate well across the team and the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of key internal reporting requirements, including supporting the Business review and Cost centre reporting process, Cashflow forecasting and Treasury reporting.
  • Calculation and preparation of key accounting adjustments, including accruals, prepayments, revenue, and tax adjustments.
  • Maintenance of fixed assets register.
  • Maintenance of complex financial modelling, with opportunities to develop and create new models.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Development of strong working relationships with the business.
  • Assistance in continued development of the financial controls & reporting.
  • Assistance with ad hoc project work as required by the business.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 2 years PQE (could suit a first-time mover from practice).
  • Experience of reporting within a large company or plc environment desirable.
  • Good understanding of IFRS frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Logical mindset; able to solve problems with an 'eye for detail'.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to summarise information effectively.
  • Organisation and time management skills with ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to work to tight reporting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
