The Nigel Wright Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements for two business units, ensuring timely completion and accuracy in line with group reporting deadlines.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to drive margin improvements through project costing and cost forecasting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for cost reduction and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate monthly accounts for key business projects, including variance analysis and financial reporting.
  • Support the preparation of valuations, invoicing, and cash collection processes to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance reporting to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in other ad-hoc responsibilities as required to support the finance team.

Requirements

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Actively studying towards or planning to study towards your ACCA/CIMA qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting principles.
  • Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in financial software applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
