We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team and work with adults experiencing mental health challenges. As a valued member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide peer support and practical assistance to service users and their carers, empowering them to regain control over their lives and build connections with their local communities.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Discharge Mental Health Team and contribute to the development of the Inpatient Mental Health Framework. You will work closely with people who experience a range of mental health needs, from mild to severe and enduring mental health problems, and their carers.

As a Mental Health Support Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing peer support and practical assistance to service users and their carers
  • Working across the adult inpatient pathway and VCSE, supporting service users to transition between services
  • Acting as a recovery champion across mental health services pathways and ambassador for the Trust with external agencies and partner organisations

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Lived experience of using mental health services
  • Previous care experience with people who have mental health difficulties
  • Good communication and listening skills, organisational skills, problem-solving skills, and awareness of own limits and boundaries

Livewell Southwest offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including:
