Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our team. As a Field Engineer, you will assist construction project team members in various areas, including preparation of field-related reports, estimating, design, and scheduling software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily reports and other field assignments, including writing scopes of work and performing job walks.
  • Provide support with project buyout, procurement of subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
  • Prepare AutoCAD as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Assist Project Manager during bid negotiations.
  • Develop detailed line-item takeoffs and pricing, and enter line items into Unit Price Book software using RS Means or other estimating tools.
  • Prepare bid documents for subcontractors, assemble subcontractor quotes for review, and gather subcontractor safety information.
  • Track progress payments and invoicing from subcontractors, and prepare subcontracts and other subcontractor safety information.
  • Help develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with Centennial's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and local requirements.
Requirements
  • Some experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor.
  • Experience with estimating, design, and scheduling software highly desired.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • Experience with blueprint reading a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field highly desired.
Working Conditions

The Field Engineer will be responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or from the assigned office location. Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment along with visits to construction sites, which may include various weather conditions.

The physical demands of the job include the ability to walk terrain and surfaces that may be far, uneven, or temporary, and to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, or reach is also required. The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds is also necessary.
