We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Transport Shift Manager to oversee our South Kirkby Depot operations. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the effective management of all Drivers and Admin staff at the depot.
Key Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing cost-effective transportation plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Leading the transport planning team to optimize routes and schedules.
- Generating and approving transportation plans to meet customer needs.
- Monitoring transportation management software to ensure efficient operations.
- Collaborating with branch teams and customers to resolve delivery logistics issues.
- Serving as a liaison between customers and operational teams to ensure seamless communication.
- Developing and implementing cost-efficient operational transportation plans daily.
- Ensuring the department consistently delivers a high-quality service to customers through meticulous planning.
- Maintaining strict adherence to budget constraints and regulatory requirements.
- Guaranteeing departmental compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Assisting in project work to optimize schedules and synergies.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
- Previous experience in a distribution environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of transportation legislation.
- Proficiency in IT, particularly in Excel and Word.
- A self-driven and highly motivated work ethic.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
- Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate the depot's 24/7 operating hours.
