Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lawyer Advocate to join our team at Spinwell Global Limited. As a Lawyer Advocate, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality legal services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality legal services to clients
  • Undertake advocacy and represent the Council in the Court arena
  • Represent Legal Services, the Council, and external clients in meetings, including committee and member meetings, inquiries, and working groups
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of legal services
  • Exhibit the employee behaviors as indicated in the Council's People Strategy
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues with tact and confidentiality
  • Ability to provide innovative, creative advice to clients in a pressurized environment
  • Highly developed negotiating and listening skills with various groups of people and in a variety of different settings

Requirements:

  • Experienced child care lawyer
  • Ability to attend court hearings at least once a month
  • Qualified barrister, Solicitor, or a Chartered Legal Executive
  • Membership of the relevant professional body
  • Experience of undertaking advocacy in court together with contested hearings requiring the cross-examination of witnesses in court
  • Experience of working in local government
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to advise members, staff, other organizations, and members of the public courteously and efficiently
  • Good research and problem-solving skills with the ability to convey complex legal and factual issues to various audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively with professionals and client departments to build excellent working relationships
  • Ability to share knowledge and expertise to develop colleagues and clients and be part of a team
  • Good research and IT skills, including the ability to use a case management system
  • To be conversant with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
