SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at a secondary school for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in the Chessington area.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with autism, severe learning difficulties, and additional complex needs, and will be able to adapt their approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students across different age groups (9-19 years old) in their social, emotional, and academic development, helping them reach personal and educational goals.
You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that fosters progress and participation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group interventions for students with autism, SLD, and other complex needs
- Assisting with lesson planning, resource preparation, and maintaining records
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour in line with each student's individual needs
- Offering personal care and support where necessary
We are looking for someone who is flexible, willing to provide personal care if needed, and able to support children with SEND. You will also need to have an enhanced Child-Only DBS check and be willing to obtain it if you don't already have one.
