Job Description

Yorkshire Water is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Environment Team as a Biodiversity Partnerships Lead.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with external partners, particularly regional CaBA partnerships, to deliver conservation focused habitat and river restoration projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the recovery of nature across Yorkshire, working closely with stakeholders to develop and implement projects that enhance priority habitat, restore the landscape, and promote catchment resilience.

The ideal candidate will have a good grounding in biodiversity and the water framework directive, with experience of partnership working, facilitating and influencing working groups/stakeholder meetings.

They will also have strong communication skills, a passion for driving change, and a desire to repair Yorkshire's rivers and catchments wilder.

The role will involve close collaboration with a range of stakeholders, including the CaBA hosts, to help the partnerships engage with our business planning and investment processes, identify opportunities for collaboration, share data, and develop opportunities to bring in additional funding.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks, including a Basic Disclosure Check, prior to commencing employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with external partners to deliver conservation focused habitat and river restoration projects
  • Develop and implement projects that enhance priority habitat, restore the landscape, and promote catchment resilience

  • Facilitate and influence working groups/stakeholder meetings
  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships

Requirements:

  • Good grounding in biodiversity and the water framework directive
