Job Overview

Venesky Brown seeks a seasoned Commercial Manager to spearhead its commercial operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial management, team leadership, and supply chain coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership

The successful applicant will oversee the development and growth of a high-performing commercial team. This includes succession planning, talent acquisition, coaching, and behavior management. They will foster an environment that promotes competency, retention, and effective resource allocation.

Supply Chain Management

As primary commercial liaison with supply chain partners, the chosen candidate will participate in pre-contract meetings, vet contracts, and develop subcontract documentation. They will also ensure seamless collaboration and communication between teams.

Compliance and Feedback

The Commercial Manager will oversee audits and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement within the business. They will identify areas for enhancement and implement strategies to address these gaps.

Client Relations

The successful applicant will engage with clients and their representatives, providing expert commercial insights and advice on project-related matters. They will build strong relationships and establish trust through exceptional service delivery.

Financial Reporting

They will lead the preparation of monthly cost reports, quarterly forecasts, and corporate-related cost documentation. Additionally, they will manage cash-flow forecasting and ensure timely presentation of financial reports.

Risk and Dispute Management

The Commercial Manager will proactively identify potential disputes and manage risks effectively. This includes producing and negotiating insurance claims as required.

Legal and Contractual Oversight

They will oversee the engagement of legal and commercial consultants, ensuring efficient account management and service delivery.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Commercial Manager overseeing multiple projects.
  • Joint Venture experience.
  • Membership in a professional institution (e.g., ICES or similar) or active pursuit of membership.
  • A collaborative approach with a willingness to support team members.
  • A degree in Commercial, Construction, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
