Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Nurse Leader to join our team in NHS Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional nursing leadership and expert advice within the operational unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, quality care and promoting a positive culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of nursing strategies to improve patient outcomes and staff wellbeing
  • Collaborate with operational managers to develop and support the mental health landscape
  • Provide expert advice on clinical governance, patient safety, and staff wellbeing
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Registered mental health nurse with a current valid registration with the NMC
  • Degree or equivalent specialist knowledge
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Working Hours:

This is a permanent full-time post, working 37 hours per week over five days. A current driving licence is essential for this post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff.
