Job Description

Mace is seeking a skilled Construction Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction delivery team, you will be responsible for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for Mace's value of Safety First and lead the team in maintaining exceptional safety standards.
  • Manage and influence stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and support the construction lead in turning their vision into a deliverable onsite plan.
  • Assist the submissions team in preparing method statements, logistics plans, and potential health, safety, and environment issues during the proposal stage.
  • Review design information, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure approval of temporary works and mobilisation meetings are carried out.
  • Produce the health and safety project executive plan and compile the snag list during the handover stage of the project.
  • Chair design meetings and workshops, including the management of samples and mock-ups as detailed in the quality plan.
  • Confirm that method statements and risk assessments are reviewed and approved prior to works activities commencing.
  • Lead and direct the Construction works delivery team to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key performance measures.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree qualification, HND or HNC qualification in construction or other similar background, and professional membership.
  • Valid CSCS card and SMSTS training, familiar with NEC Option C contracts and target cost.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety and CDM requirements.
  • Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships, and lead strong, motivated teams.
