About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Adults Support Specialist to join our team in Alfreton. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people, particularly those seeking asylum.

Job Summary:

This role is a key member of our team, providing assistance and guidance to 10 unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people within a 24-hour supported accommodation setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering person-centered support that meets the unique needs of each individual accessing the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement personalized support plans that cater to the diverse needs of the residents
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to help young people settle into their new surroundings and overcome barriers
  • Foster a nurturing environment that promotes independence, skills development, and emotional well-being
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and develop the organization's values, culture, and ethos

Requirements and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess empathy, knowledge, and professionalism in understanding the specific needs of asylum-seeking adolescents transitioning into adulthood. While speakers of other languages (especially Arabic) would be an advantage, it is not essential. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the maintenance and development of Adullam Homes' values, culture, and ethos.
