Job Overview

Mercury Hampton is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Runcorn.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established and growing engineering manufacturing business, developing innovative solutions for bespoke projects.

The successful candidate will assist the technical team with design, development, and testing of new engineering solutions, utilizing their skills in mechanical design and problem-solving.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the technical team to develop innovative ideas and designs for new project applications.
  • R&D: Conduct research and development activities to improve existing solutions and identify new opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal sales teams to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Take ownership of customer issues, resolving problems through troubleshooting and identifying solutions.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide onsite help when required.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a mechanical design engineer.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing complex moving part solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., CAD, FEA).

What We Offer

Competitive salary range: £40,000 - £50,000 basic salary. A dynamic and supportive work environment with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Location: The ideal candidate will live within commuting distance to Runcorn, allowing them to easily access our client's facilities. Possible locations include Liverpool, Chester, Warrington, Widnes, Lymm, Northwich, Ellesmere Port, Knutsford, or Winsford.
