About the Role

We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our team at Leonardo. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical implementation in a real system.

Our team is responsible for developing cutting-edge radar systems, and we need someone with a strong background in applied physics and engineering to help us turn early concepts into working solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Applied research: Conducting early research into new technologies and concepts to exploit their potential.
  • High-level design: Developing a deep understanding of the impact of design decisions on system performance.
  • Low-level design: Designing, prototyping, and optimizing processing solutions using expertise in a technical domain.

We offer a competitive salary and an award-winning benefits package, including flexible working options, company-funded benefits, and opportunities for professional development.

About You

We are looking for someone with a Ph.D., Eng.D., or relevant research experience in a Maths, Engineering, or relevant Technology subject. Proven experience is also acceptable. If you have a drive to continuously improve your skills and knowledge, a methodical approach to solving complex problems, and experience in planning, leading, and overseeing technical research or development tasks, we would love to hear from you.

Coding is central to our day-to-day work, and you should have some experience using a programming language to solve problems or develop models. Experience with Matlab and Simulink is an advantage.

All successful applicants must be eligible for full security clearance and access to UK-caveated and ITAR-controlled information.
