About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Immunologist to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a Consultant Clinical Immunologist, you will provide a clinical consultative service in immunology, with responsibility for the continuing care of patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiency disorders.

Main Duties

  • Provide a clinical consultative service in immunology, including the continuing care of patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiency disorders.
  • Provide consultant input and leadership to the Immunology Laboratory.
  • Provide a clinical outpatient consultative service in clinical allergy.

Person Specification

  • On GMC Specialist Register for specialty / Specialty Registrar with CCT / CESR (Combined Programme) due within 6 months of interview date.
  • FRCPath or equivalent.

Desirable

  • PHD, MD, DM.

Experience

  • Evidence of training and experience in Immunology equivalent to FRCPath.
  • Broad experience in General Immunology and Allergy, consistent with independent practice at Consultant level.

Skills

  • Evidence of effective team and multidisciplinary working.
  • Effective and demonstrable communication skills.

Clinical Governance

  • Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice.
  • Evidence of proactive engagement with appraisal and revalidation (or equivalent).

Research

  • Evidence of active research interests.

Teaching

  • Evidence of teaching medical students and junior doctors.

Management

  • Evidence of effective leadership skills.
