Management Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to play a key role in shaping the financial future of our organisation.
Main Responsibilities:- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis, to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
- Budget Development: Develop and maintain a rolling 3-year budget for the organisation, incorporating financial forecasts, strategic initiatives, and risk assessments.
- Financial Support: Collaborate with the DCFO/CFO and finance team to provide financial support and guidance to the Trust's academies and partner organisations.
- Annual Budgeting: Lead the annual budgeting process by working closely with various departments and stakeholders to collect, analyse, and consolidate financial data.
- Financial Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver financial reports and presentations for senior leaders, the governing body, and external stakeholders as required.
- Financial Policy Development: Support the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Financial Analysis and Decision-Making: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, cost optimisation, and risk management initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
- Leadership and Development: Support the professional development of junior finance team members and contribute to the wider leadership and management of the organisation.
- Key Performance Indicators: Prepare and monitor key KPIs to assist with the budgeting process.
- Accounting Qualification: A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CIPFA) or equivalent experience.
- Management Accounting Experience: Demonstrable experience in management accounting, financial planning & analysis.
- Budget Development Experience: Proven track record of developing and managing multi-year budgets and financial forecasts.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Excel and experience with accounting software and financial management systems.
