About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Lead to join our team at Lockton Companies. As a key member of our Communications function, you will play a crucial role in executing internal associate communications and driving effective PR strategies across the UK and Europe.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach one direct report, responsible for executing internal associate communications.
  • Partner with Lockton's PR agency to develop and execute PR strategies, manage media relations calendars, and deliver engaging communications to target audiences.
  • Serve as the primary internal contact for media enquiries, liaising with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Support reactive comms efforts, collaborating with key stakeholders in business units.
  • Oversee crisis communications strategy and lead communication efforts during crises.
  • Develop and execute internal communications plans, supporting direct reports in execution and distribution.
  • Support Events teams in comms for internal and external events.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Comms on day-to-day management of the Tate partnership and lead all comms initiatives.
  • E nsure all content is consistent with Lockton's brand voice and messaging and visually consistent with the new look and feel.
  • Support Executive Communications in creating monthly content calendars and executing external social comms and associate comms.
  • Partner with ARG, HR, Lockton Charity Associate, and Events teams to develop engaging associate communications and well-thought-out calendars.
  • Own monthly reports tracking internal and external KPIs, continually learning and optimising.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to promote relevant content on social media platforms.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Significant experience in communications, public relations, or related fields.
  • A Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; a Master's degree is an asset.
  • Experience delivering high-profile, effective, and strategic PR campaigns and media relations, as well as crisis management.
  • Proven expertise in internal engagement and communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing and editing engaging content for various audiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
