Job Overview

As a key member of the Version 1 team, the Business Development Director - Financial Services will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and expansion in the Financial Services sector. This strategic position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the sector's buying cycles and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead large sales opportunities (7/8 figure sales opportunities) developed through commercial partnerships and strategic technology alliances.
  • Manage client engagements, contracts, and project mobilization, ensuring seamless delivery of IT services and technology solutions.
  • Develop and execute bids and tender responses, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality submissions.
  • Liaise with delivery teams to identify and secure resources for sales opportunities and bid preparation.
  • Support the pre-qualification process to ensure all customer sales opportunities and bids are fully qualified and identified as winnable.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, tender responses, and contracts to prospects and clients, ensuring successful delivery of Version 1 propositions.
  • Collaborate with partner account managers and commercial operations to ensure the successful delivery of presentations, tender responses, and contracts.
  • Support all levels of the bid process lifecycle, from initial qualification to final submission.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a successful business development director delivering IT services and technology solutions into the Financial Services sector.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services Sector buying cycles and procurement processes, including frameworks, channel partners, and complex bidding environments.
  • Influencing skills to get people at multiple levels to deliver what is needed on time and with high quality.
  • Strong written skills to complete tender and internal documentation to a high standard.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage at all levels across an organisation internally and externally.
  • Good commercial awareness and sound understanding of project and business dynamics.
