Year 2 Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 2 teacher to join our team at an aspiring one-form entry school in Yarnton, Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality education and creating a positive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of Year 2 students
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, maintaining accurate records of their academic performance
  • Establish a safe and conducive learning environment, promoting a sense of community and respect among students
  • Collaborate with school management, teaching staff, and parents to provide quality academic support for Year 2 students
  • Participate in school-related activities, such as performances, events, and parent-teacher meetings
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies, prioritizing the welfare and well-being of all students
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Year 2 teacher in a mainstream primary or secondary school
  • QTS or equivalent qualification in teaching
  • Recognized teaching qualification, preferably a PGCE or Bachelor's degree in Education
  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with effective communication and collaboration with parents, staff, and students
  • Sound knowledge of the national curriculum and its application in the classroom
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to accommodate different learning styles
