Senior Dosimetrist Job Description

At GenesisCare, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Dosimetrist to join our team at our Cambridge centre. As a Senior Dosimetrist, you'll play a crucial role in the treatment planning pathway, supervising and assisting with patient dosimetry and treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take overall responsibility for the treatment planning service at the centre, working closely with the Lead Physicist and Centre Leader/Lead Radiographer.
  • Supervise the work of other dosimetrists in the centre as appropriate.
  • Liaise with cluster GCUK sites and the wider network to coordinate treatment planning activities and ensure efficient patient pathways.
  • Manage the delivery of patient dosimetry and treatment planning services on site, ensuring timely completion of plans and tasks.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years' experience in Dosimetry.
  • Specialist knowledge of treatment planning and radiation dosimetry applied to radiotherapy treatment.
  • Specialist training in treatment planning techniques, such as IMRT or SABR.
  • Specialist knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Awareness of relevant legislation, national standards, professional, and other guidelines.
  • High level of IT skills.
  • Able to communicate complex information across professional boundaries.
Qualifications and Knowledge:
  • Hold one of the following qualifications: BSc Radiotherapy, BSc Clinical Technology, HNC MPPM, Diploma in Radiotherapy, or a suitable Graduate qualification.
  • Be eligible to be either HCPC Registered Radiographer or on Clinical Register of Technologists.
  • Further qualifications, such as an MSc related to Radiotherapy, are desirable.
