Position Title: Group Accounting Specialist

Location: Hybrid, 2 days from our office

Role Purpose:

NCC Group is seeking a skilled Group Accounting Specialist to support our Group Finance team. This role requires excellent analytical and numerical abilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. As a team player, you will be part of the Group Finance Team responsible for preparing the consolidated financial results of the business while supporting other areas of Group Finance and the wider business.

This position will focus on developing and implementing process improvements relating to the Group's consolidated balance sheet and inter-group transactions. You will also be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial information to the Group Finance Manager, which the role reports into.

Key Responsibilities:

Interim/Year End:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for delivering information to external auditors and internal audit team
  • Assisting with preparing information for population in RNS and Annual Report and Accounts
  • Preparing UK subsidiary statutory accounts for 17 entities
  • Assisting with preparation of audit papers for year-end and interim audits
  • Ownership of accounting for share-based payments under IFRS 2
  • Ad-hoc project work supporting technical accounting matters

Month End Reporting:

  • Preparing the Group Consolidation and ongoing maintenance of consolidation journals
  • Developing a Group Consolidation checklist to ensure accuracy of reporting and improve efficiency of the consolidation process
  • Implementing the above checklist and investigating and clearing any matters identified
  • Assisting in developing a process for more accurate month-end process to reconcile inter-group balances, including introducing inter-group invoicing
  • Implementing and governing the above process
  • Assisting the Group Assistant Management Accountant and Group Finance Manager as required with other month-end tasks and ensuring the Group monthly reporting pack is sent out in accordance with the agreed timetable

Systems/IT Skills:

  • Adopting a continuous improvement mindset to enhance existing processes and leverage the Workday ERP system
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office products, with a strong requirement for Excel skills

Reporting:

  • Developing Workday-based group consolidation
  • Continuing to leverage the Workday system to provide efficient and accurate Management Information
  • Providing financial support to senior stakeholders with ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with excellent technical accounting skills
  • Comfortable working in a large company environment, meeting tight deadlines, and responding to business needs in a timely manner
  • NCC Group is a global business, requiring effective working relationships with local finance representatives, the wider Group Finance team, and key stakeholders across the Group. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for this role
