About the Role

Burton Recruitment is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction and Engineering Adjuster to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our loss prevention and claims management team, you will play a critical role in investigating, evaluating, and settling claims related to construction and engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigation and Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations of high-value construction and engineering-related insurance claims, assessing and determining coverage, liability, and extent of damages.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with field experts, contractors, and engineers to gather necessary information, review and analyze policy documentation to ensure accurate claims processing.
  • Market Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities, market existing and new business lines, and build relationships with existing clients.
  • Case Management: Prepare case management plans, visit insured parties, brokers, claimants, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate claims resolution.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports commenting on all aspects of the claim, including policy analysis and liability, quantum, and future actions.
  • Expert Instructing and Control: Instruct and control surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists, and other experts as necessary.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate regularly with all interested parties, calculate and approve interim payments, prepare interim reports, and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Construction and Engineering Adjuster or in a similar role within the insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Relevant insurance qualifications or a degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, or similar).
