Job Title: Wellbeing Support Worker - My Way Home

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Wellbeing Support Worker to join our team at Llamau Limited. As a Wellbeing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support to young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Cardiff.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a innovative project that aims to make youth homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurrent. You will work with young people who have experienced trauma, exploitation, and complex mental health issues, providing them with the necessary tools to overcome adversity and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted support to young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, equipping them with coping strategies and building emotional resilience.
  • Work collaboratively with the young person's support worker, wider team, and partner agencies to provide a comprehensive support package.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with young people, understanding their unique strengths and needs, and supporting them to rebuild their futures.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, providing 1st tier on-call support and advice for projects, including 24-hour staffed projects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable young people, particularly those who have experienced trauma and exploitation.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and the ability to apply this in a practical setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people and work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
