Financial Analyst Job Description

Heartwood Collection is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in assisting with all financial reporting and analysis workstreams across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Weekly reporting: Prepare a suite of weekly reports, including sales reporting, trading reporting, labour reporting, and energy consumption reporting.
  • Board reporting: Prepare materials for the monthly board meeting to provide insight into sales and EBITDA performance by brand and site.
  • Analysis work: Assist with ad hoc analysis across the business, support with procurement savings workstream, and review of labour reporting to ensure it is fit for purpose for key stakeholders.
  • New Site Openings: Support the Property team by assessing the demographic profile of the local area for new site opportunities and perform competitor analysis in the local area for any new site openings as part of the investment review process.
  • Budgets: Assist the Head of FP&A with the annual budgeting process, assist with preparation of budget P&L packs for sites, and support with preparation of budget presentations for all stakeholders.
  • Tableau reporting and analysis: Assist with the development of the Tableau reporting suite, reconcile and investigate variances between Tableau and source systems, and identify improvement opportunities in the monthly P&L production process.
Requirements:
  • Part qualified accountant (study support available)
  • Excellent academic record, at a minimum: 300 UCAS Tariff points or equivalent
  • 2:1 degree (numerate subject preferred; STEM or Business/Accounting)
  • Previous experience in financial analysis is preferred
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across functions
  • Experience of managing multiple priorities and delivering to a deadline
  • Previous experience with Tableau or a similar data visualisation tool would be advantageous
