Reliability Maintenance Engineer Role

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering team at Amazon plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, ensuring the health and safety of our colleagues and minimizing machine downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on site equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, using your technical expertise to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Utilize the latest tools and technologies to maximize equipment effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices across multiple EU sites.
A Day in the Life

As a Reliability Maintenance Engineer, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any equipment issues that arise. Your day will be filled with a range of tasks, from planned preventative maintenance to responding to breakdowns and implementing solutions. You will also have the opportunity to suggest long-term improvements and work collaboratively with senior colleagues to achieve our goals.

Working on a range of shifts, you will ensure that our sites are supported around the clock, allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed our customers expect. You will work closely with contractors when necessary, leveraging external expertise to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Requirements
  • Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer, with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in condition-based monitoring and fault-finding.
  • Experience working with print and apply machines, conveyor systems, and automation equipment.
