We are seeking a skilled Fleet Advisor to join our team at Pollock (SCOTRANS) Ltd. As a Fleet Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet of trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage external workshop-related jobs for planned and unplanned maintenance, MOTs, and tacho calibrations.
  • Provide regular updates on work in progress to the traffic operations team.
  • Raise and log jobs onto the Group Freeway System and finalize purchase orders.
  • Liaise with external workshops and inform operations on vehicle availability.
  • Negotiate best value for money with external suppliers.
  • Source and recommend suitable maintenance contractors for the fleet.
  • Collect and send compliance paperwork to the central fleet admin team.
  • Record and administer defect reports.
  • Coordinate and monitor roadside breakdowns, including refrigeration, tires, and ancillary equipment.
  • Offer maintenance solutions to drivers and operators to minimize vehicle downtime.

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of HGVs, preferably from a workshop or dealership environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in supplier management and cost control.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Confident, polite, and team-oriented.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and meet deadlines.
