Quantity Surveyor Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing all costs related to our projects, ensuring that we achieve the optimum cashflow position and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all costs related to our projects, including procurement, subcontract management, and contract administration.
  • Ensure that all contract documentation and sub-contract documentation is completed and stored centrally.
  • Present and agree external valuations with clients' representatives.
  • Pricing and agreeing variations with clients' representatives.
  • Prepare and manage key and large risk subcontract accounts from inception to final accounts.
  • Subcontract procurement strategy and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial and company procedures through the Business Management System.

Requirements:

  • Experience in quantity surveying and knowledge of construction techniques and mixed-tenure schemes.
  • Demonstrable strong account management and commercial experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new computer systems, such as Coins (Payments & Cost reporting) and Viewpoint/4Projects (document storage and tender preparation).
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of groundworks, roads, and sewers.
  • Strong team player, with the entrepreneurial ability to operate and excel in a changing on-site environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage your own workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Ability to influence others within the business to ensure that best practices are shared to aid the Group in achieving its overall objectives.
