Job Summary

This is a key leadership role within the Property and Facilities Department at City, University of London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of in-house and outsourced services, including portering, environmental services, pest control, catering, customer service, grounds maintenance, and service desk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations and contract management for various facilities services
  • Line manage a team of Assistant Facilities Managers
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and university policies
  • Conduct risk assessments and spot checks of contractors and staff
  • Act as On-Call Duty Manager on a rotational basis
  • Deputise for the Head of Facilities Management in their absence
Requirements
  • Proven experience in facilities management with senior managerial duties
  • Experience of delivering a first-class facilities service in a complex customer-focused environment
  • Technical knowledge of contract management and experience of managing large-scale budgets
