Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Facilities Management

Pareto Facilities Management is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in a site-based role. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all electrical systems within the facility, ensuring their efficient operation and compliance with UK electrical regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Electrical Maintenance and Repair:
    • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and electrical equipment, to identify and address issues proactively.
    • Perform electrical repairs, replacements, and upgrades as necessary to ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical infrastructure.
    • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and faults, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and disruption to operations.
  2. Compliance and Regulation:
    • Ensure compliance with UK electrical regulations, standards, and codes of practice in all electrical maintenance activities.
    • Conduct periodic testing and inspection of electrical systems to verify their safety, integrity, and performance, maintaining accurate records of test results and compliance documentation.
    • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices in electrical engineering, implementing necessary updates and improvements to maintain compliance.
  3. Technical Expertise:
    • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians and contractors on electrical systems and equipment, including troubleshooting complex issues and implementing corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems with other building systems and infrastructure effectively.
    • Review electrical design specifications, drawings, and proposals for new installations or upgrades, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and project objectives.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive records of electrical maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, test results, and equipment documentation.
    • Prepare detailed reports on electrical maintenance activities, including work completed, issues encountered, and recommendations for improvements.
    • Collaborate with the facility management team to develop budgets, forecasts, and expenditure reports related to electrical maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

  • UK electrical qualifications are a must, such as City & Guilds 2365 Diploma in Electrical Installations, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, etc.
  • Experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting in a facilities management or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK electrical regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
