Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the Engineering and Technical Function: The Engineering and Technical Director will be responsible for leading the company's engineering and technical function, including programme engineering, systems engineering, and health and safety experts.
  • Develop and Implement Engineering Policies and Standards: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering policies and standards, including ensuring compliance with all relevant engineering, technical, and safety legislation.
  • Ensure Compliance with Engineering and Safety Requirements: The Engineering and Technical Director will be responsible for ensuring that the company's engineering and technical activities comply with all relevant engineering, technical, and safety requirements, including ensuring that appropriate design review and approval processes are in place.
  • Develop and Implement Systems Engineering Policies and Practices: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing systems engineering policies and practices, including integrating the infrastructure and systems across the East West Rail scheme and with the network controlled by Network Rail.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a masters or bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of engineering or equivalent business experience. They will also have a proven track record of leading engineering and technical functions, developing and implementing engineering policies and standards, and ensuring compliance with engineering and safety requirements.
