Job Description

**Electrical Engineering Project Manager**

Optamor is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the development and integration of electrical systems for our cutting-edge electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and integration of electrical systems, including electrical architecture, electrical components, and electrical software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of electrical systems.
  • Develop and maintain electrical system requirements, specifications, and test plans.
  • Manage and coordinate with suppliers, including Tier 1 and component suppliers, to ensure timely delivery of electrical components and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including functional safety, legislative, electrical, environmental, and EMC requirements.
  • Lead system review, verification, and validation activities, including FMEAs, test planning, and functionality tests.
  • Represent the Electrical Department in status meetings and engineering reviews.
  • Provide support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments.
  • Responsible for commodity attributes, including quality, costs, timing, and weight.
  • Responsible for DFMEA, DVP&R (Electrical & Mechanical), PV sign-off, and Engineering Sign-off.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of automotive new product development process, milestones, and deliverables for each phase.
  • Demonstrable experience of automotive electrical components' design, development, and manufacture.
  • Good experience and knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, ECUs, and other electrically wired components.
  • Wide-ranging in-depth expert understanding of electrical systems, software features/functions, electrical architectures, and systems design/integration.
  • Working knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, LIN networks, and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Experience in design for good electrical and EMC performance.
  • Established contacts within the automotive eco-system, including Tier 1 and component suppliers.
  • Knowledge of hybrid and full-electric electrical vehicle architectures and wiring systems would be advantageous.
  • Excellent understanding of 2D drawings, electrical circuits.
  • Experience in creating Engineering Change Requests and managing the implementation of changes through design release internally and externally.
  • Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma, or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP, etc.).
  • Experience in leading DFMEA and System (Electrical Interface) Reviews.
  • Experience in harness testing and validation process and engineering sign-off.
  • Ability to use various engineering development tools and collaborative platforms, such as Microsoft Office 365.
  • Honor's degree in Electrical or similar areas, such as Electronics, Control Systems, or Automotive, with relevant experience in the field.
  • Additional Project Management qualification is desirable.
