About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Excelcare Holdings. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, working closely with our Care Assistants and registered nurses to ensure outstanding care is delivered at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside and mentor a team of Care Assistants to ensure high-quality care is delivered
  • Engage in meaningful activities with residents, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect
  • Contribute to creating person-centred care plans and risk assessments, ensuring regular updates and reviews
  • Work collaboratively with ancillary teams and other Senior Care Assistants and registered nurses within the home
Requirements
  • Two years' experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or three years' experience without an NVQ
  • Experience in a nursing or care home, or as a home care worker
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • Knowledge and practice of working with people suffering from dementia is desirable
  • Previous experience prompting/administering medication using an electronic e-MAR system is desirable, with full training and support provided
